The Beautylish Lucky Bag is a western take on the Japanese Fukubukuro Bags, which translate to “lucky bags” or “happy bags”. This are a Japanese New Year tradition where retailers will pull together a bunch of random items from their store and sell it in a sealed bag at a discounted price. I’ve been lucky enough to have been in Japan twice now for New Years and I can see the excitement for these type of bags is pretty cool! However what you get in these bags can be pretty hit or miss in terms of range and quality, depending on the brand or retailer.
I love that Beautylish decided to create their own version of it, something they’ve done for a number of years now that require you to sign up on to a wish list to ensure you are notified the second these are available as they are limited edition. This is the second time I’ve managed to pick one up and just like the first bag, I was not disappointed! I’m 100% planning to purchase the 2025 soon so be sure to look out for my video and blog post on that 🙂 Check out the video below to see what I picked up in 2024!
