It’s been a hot minute since I’ve done a proper legit makeup product review so I thought I would just start with something simple that I already know I love! My Rimmel Face Powder~
If you’re in need of an affordable but great quality face powder then I couldn’t recommend Rimmel more! I’ve definitely tried more expensive powders that are far more finely milled and apply seamlessly, but for me, face powder is one of those products that I can work through easily within a couple of months so it always pains me a little to pay large amounts for products I know I’ll finish very quickly (shower gels sit in this same category)
This powder is best used on top of cream or liquid foundation to help set it from creasing later in the day, and helps mattify the skin if your foundation or skin is particularly oily. Whilst this is not a mineral powder, I do prefer using a flat top powder brush to help buff the powder into my skin to really create a flawless effect.
The only downside I would say is that there are only a few colour selections, so if you’re someone with a deeper skin tone you may not be able to find a matching shade unless you’re keen on giving the translucent shade a go (I personally haven’t before).
However if you’re looking for something that will give you flawless skin all day long and you’re someone with potentially oily or dry skin, I’m not convinced this will meet those needs (tbh I don’t think any powder I’ve tried so far will meet those needs for a 12 hr day). But at that price point, I would still recommend giving it a shot 🙂
You can pick it up for $11.95AUD or $4.99USD at Priceline or Ulta.

A very similar product, is the L’Oreal Nude Magique BB powder. Good quality and low price, mattyfies the skin pretty well and also has a nice mirror with a sponge applicator! You should give it a try 🙂
