Hello! It’s been a while~ I didn’t expect there to be such a gap between my last post and now! But I’m going to do the best I can, and make no promises 🙂
Thanks to Project Pan 100 (though you’ll see soon that I cheated just a bit and let myself break it whilst in Europe), my makeup adventures have been rather dull. At least, that’s what I’ve thought. But I figured that wasn’t a good enough excuse neglect my most beloved blog and so I figured I could blog about my journey thus far and rave about some of my current everyday makeup staples!
I’ve spent the year essentially shopping my stash and I have to admit it’s given me a much deeper appreciation for what I currently have, instead of always trying to buy the next best thing!
First and foremost, my NARS Sheer Glow Foundation has been a true staple. I wear this everyday and a single pump is perfect for giving my skin some nice natural coverage without being too heavy. Especially great for covering any imperfections or dark circles that can result from long hours at work!
I would say that for the longest time I was all over the Bobbi Brown Gel Eyeliner! It is leaps and bounds better than MAC Fluidline which dried up after a few months. Bobbi Brown on the other hand remained creamy for the entire 2 years it took me to finish it up! (I don’t follow makeup expiry dates; I just use what still looks good to me).
So when I hit pan, I knew I had to find something else in my collection rather than repurchasing and that’s when I discovered Jill Stuart’s Lasting Gel Liner in Black Cat in my collection, and man was I blown away!
It is creamy, lasted all day, deep pigmentation and very easy to work with. Dare I say, it’s –better- than Bobbi Brown, mostly because it’s just that tiny bit thicker so the pigmentation is leaps and bounds richer and so my application is nice and quick. I can’t see ever being without it and am hoping I finish Project Pan 100 before I hit pan on this one!
And you know a makeup staples post by me wouldn’t be complete without mentioning Lancôme and mascaras in the same sentence. I’ve been around the block and I still come back to Lancôme. My favourite being my true and trusted Hypnose Mascara, but right now I’m working my way through a tube of Oscillation Mscara and have zero complaints. When it comes to mascara, Lancôme are the masters.
I could honestly waffle on about all the other staples I desperately need (that’s a thing) but I can clearly see this blog post is long enough so I’ll save those for another post!
