As part of my little Chanel Fall 2015 haul I decided to pick up some nude lipsticks because who doesn’t love nude lipsticks? Okay, I know of plenty of people who hate them, but personally I love them! They are my safe go to option for adding a touch of elegance and class to any makeup look without being too overdone and over the top. If I’m looking for something sweet and a little more relaxed then I’d reach for a pinker shade.
For those not familiar with the two lipstick ranges, the first is the Rouge Allure ($52AUD / $36USD), one of Chanel’s more pigmented and creamy lipsticks, leaving your lips with a satin finish. And then we have the Rouge Coco Shine ($52AUD / $36USD) which tends to be a lot less pigmented than the Rouge Allure line, but far more shiny and moisturising. For this post, I picked up Rouge Allure in Pensive and Rouge Coco Shine in Melancolie.
So if you’re familiar with my history then you’d be forgiven for making the assumption that I’d gravitate towards the Rouge Coco Shine, and that’s what I thought when I initially ordered these online! But after trying these in person, I’d say Pensive won hands down. Melancolie was far too shimmery for me and resulted in really just a bunch of shimmer sitting on my lips. It was quite the letdown, Pensive on the other had has quickly become a staple for my makeup bag this month 🙂 Highly recommend!
You can pick up each of these from either David Jones or Nordstrom.
