A couple of months ago Lancôme released their Miracle Cushion Compact Foundation ($60AUD) and I was kindly gifted one at their last Myer Counter opening event.
You may remember sometime late last year I decided to dip my toe into the cushion compact craze with Amore Pacific and I loved all aspects of it except the lightest shade in the Amore Pacific range was too dark for me 🙁
So I was keen to try Lancôme’s version since the shades did appear to be a little lighter (which was surprising!). And after some use I have some key dislikes and likes to report.
Firstly I love that this feels so natural, I certainly don’t feel the need to throw on any powder after I’ve applied (it feels so lightweight!), maybe it’s because I have dry skin but my skin didn’t feel too “wet” after application and lasted well throughout the day. And I’m loving the shade, I was given shade 2 and even though initially I was worried it was too dark it actually suited me very well once applied! Likely due to how sheer this foundation is.
Which leads me to the part I’m less impressed with. Pigmentation. In the photos above you can still see some of my freckles come through, which to me isn’t pigmented enough. (Not that I have any issue with my freckles, it’s more a measuring stick I use to work out pigmentation level.
Personally this would be a great weekend / light makeup day sort of foundation, but if you’re looking for something heavy duty and polished I’d consider a different foundation OR powdering this cushion compact with a powder foundation after.
If you’re interested you can pick one up at David Jones or Myer (Note: For some reason the Myer website is listing this as $20 more than David Jones, likely just a pricing error but worth double checking if you intend to buy)

Aww it’s disappointing that the coverage is so low! I was definitely expecting it to be light-medium coverage. I may pick it up for my mum since she loves light coverage foundations but for me it doesn’t seem like enough. Thanks for the great review!

So true! And that’s so sweet of you to think of your mum 🙂 Also I hope the GHD has arrived! I sent it last weekend so it should be with you now!
