I’ve been busy working away at culling my nail polish collection, because if you’ve seen my collection you know it needs some serious culling! However Essie is one of the few brands I just can’t see myself culling dramatically, the bottles are just the cutest (very photogenic!) and they make my favourite nudes and soft pinks 🙂
Recently Essie sent me their latest Essie Spring 2014 Limited Edition Collection to swatch up, I’ve definitely got a few favourites that I can see taking with me on my next overseas trip 🙂 The collection comprises of beautiful rich pastels, perfect for day and night. Its strange how these collections always put me in the mood for their intended season (shallow?), like the resort collections every year make me want to plan a tropical vacation!
As always, all swatches are two coats without any top coat for you can see the natural finish.
If you’re interested, each bottle retails for $16.95AUD at Priceline during September and October 2014 only!
Style Hunter
A bold vibrant crimson shade, appears slightly pinker in person I found than in the photo. Not sure why photographing pinky reds is so difficult for me to capture accurately in a photo! But it’s a gorgeous shade and is quite the attention grabber.
Fashion Playground
A sweet pistachio polish with some barely there shimmer infused throughout it. Hard to tell from the swatches, but on the nail there is definitely a bit of shimmer. I personally love this shade! It’s very spring time appropriate and I can see myself wearing this anywhere at any time!
Hide & Go Chic
A more muted azure blue, I think in person it appears just a touch more vibrant and richer in colour. Due to the darkness of this shade, I see it being much more a weekend / evening shade than something I’d personally wear into the office.
Romper Room
A pale tea rose pink, which I think are pretty mandatory in any spring collection. Beautiful, chic, stylist and perfect for absolutely any occasion. No matter how many pink polishes, I never seem to think I have enough.
Spin the Bottle
A semi-sheer nude crème, another great standard wearable spring polish. Similar to Romper Room only leaning more towards the beige / nude side as opposed to pink.
Truth or Flare
A muted baby blue denim shade, a great “at the beach” shade in my opinion, very calming and a great way to wear some colour without being too “out there”.
