Estée Lauder Sumptuous Bold Volume Lifting mascara is a tough mascara for me to review, because I feel like my experience with it has been very inconsistent. The first time I discovered this mascara was via a deluxe sample and I fell completely in love with it! It wasn’t the most volumising mascara, but it gave my lashes such amazing length, I was blow away! So I decided to take the plunge and purchase a full sized version.
That’s when the story changes, the mascara never performed as well as I remembered it. It’s not terrible at all, it gives my lashes some volume and decent length. It’s a good mascara, doesn’t smudge, lasts the entire day and can easily be removed with some cleansing oil.
But it just wasn’t as impressive as I found the sample to be. Which honestly influenced my perception of it. Even though it is a good mascara, I probably won’t buy it again just because my expectations had been set so high. Sounds unfair doesn’t it? It’s still a great mascara, but I don’t feel compelled to keep purchasing it given the wide array of other luxury mascara that are out there for me to try
