Ever since my endeavour into the LORAC Pro Palette world, I knew I could always turn to LORAC for good quality eye shadows. And an even bigger plus for me is that it appears the majority, if not all eye shadow palettes released by LORAC are neutral based. So really it’s just a matter of time till I collect them all… (and out comes my hoarding tendencies)
But let’s take a step back and focus on this palette! The LORAC Unzipped Palette is made up of 10 highly pigmented eye shadows, with a mixture of mattes and shimmers. I always prefer palettes with a mixture, as they make much better travel palettes than those that just focus on one type of finish.
If you’ve tried the LORAC Pro Palette before, then you’ll be familiar with the quality of this palette. I found them to be very similar. They were smooth, silky, pigmented, the works. Palettes of this quality just make makeup application so much more fun and hassle free. Just the tiniest amount of a darker shade is enough for your entire look.
The palette is a true neutral palette, in that unlike the Pro Palette, you won’t find any whites, blacks, purples etc. It ranges from light tan to dark brown. Another perfect nude palette for my needs since I tend to wear neutrals 90% of the time, but something to keep in mind if you prefer a wider range of shades at your disposal. I’d say the colour range tends to lean a little more towards the medium to darker neutral range, there aren’t a ton of very cream light shades in this palette.
The colours where are great, and I love this palette, but I’m tempted to say that if you already have a nude palette you’re happy with then you probably don’t need this one. In terms of quality, I don’t find it any better than Urban Decay’s Naked range (as both are amazing in my opinion).
Personally, I love this palette. It has a lovely large mirror (always a big plus for me), I have been able to use all 10 shadows easily and the palette is incredibly thin, making it a perfect travel companion.
One thing to note, this palette does come with a deluxe sample of the LORAC Behind the Scene’s Eye Primer, which is a great primer. Have not experienced any issues what so ever with this, it comes out a peach colour, but doesn’t deposit any actual colour to my lids. That’d my personal preference, but I know others who prefer their primers to help cover up the veins on their eyelids, to each their own!
The palette is available online for $40USD.

Awesome palette! I already have the Naked 1 and 3, colours do look semi-similar. Regardless I have too many browns – must skip 🙁
