More USA photos š The next day we made the long drive to Las Vegas, and boy what a drive. Still not as long as the one between Melbourne and Sydney (which Iāve done and hated), but still tiring none the less. Especially if youāre the only driver, which Toby was š I was too chicken to drive because Iāve only ever driven on the left side of the road my entire life, but since Toby grew up in Germany his first few years of driving were all on the right side of the road (same as USA), so he fell back into old habits pretty fast.
On the way, I wanted to visit the site of the original MacDonalds, which has since been knocked down and built into a pretty dodgy looking shop for Maccas souvienersā¦ so we took a shot from the car (yeah, the area felt that dodgy I refused to get out of the carā¦), grabbed some lunch and it was off to Las Vegas.
The view as a passenger who doesnāt have to focus on the roads was amazing, beautiful old mountains and deserts, and since the journey was mostly straight I didnāt suffer from my typical car sickness š
Once we arrived, we checked in and explored the hotel and our surroundings š
Poor Toby was exhausted when we arrived, so after a bit of exploring, we opted for room service and an early night.
