Aloha! I’m currently still on vacation, and if you can’t tell yet I’m on the beautiful island of Hawaii As this was designed to be the “relaxing” part of our vacation before we ease back into real life (I say ‘ease’ with a grain of salt because we arrive back home pretty much on Sunday morning and are back to work on Monday morning), I finally have some time to sit back, relax on the beach (or in my air conditioned hotel room…. either or) and start going through the many photos I’ve managed to take during this amazing trip 🙂
To give you some context, Toby and I decided to take a 3 week vacation to both celebrate our 10 year anniversary and explore some of the major areas along the west coast of the USA (places we’ve both wanted to see as adults for many years). Our itinerary was essentially: Los Angeles (1 night), San Diego (1 night), Las Vegas (2 nights), San Francisco (5 nights), Los Angeles (7 nights) and Honolulu (3 nights).
I’ve managed to naturally take a mountain of photos that I’d love to post on my blog not just to capture my experiences but share them with you guys as well And because I’ve taken so many, I’m planning to share them probably over the course of the next week or so Treat this more like a travel diary So sit back, relax and I hope you enjoy the west coast from my perspective!
First day we landed at close to 6am on a Saturday, though we had left Melbourne at around 10am on a Saturday (going back in time FTW). Despite that we did manage to get some sleep on the plane and so spent the first day exploring our surroundings and learning how to drive on the “right” side of the road (we only ended up on the left side of the road once, and you can tell straight away because cars drive towards you)
We stayed in Costa Mesa on our first night, so we explored the local shopping center and visited the famous Newport Beach.
Of course this was one of the many times I had to visit Sephora >_> It was like having an arsenal of mascaras! Which one to use first….
For dinner we had to go to the iconic Cheesecake Factory thanks to watching The Big Bang Theory (nothing like the one in Australia btw, it’s an actual restaurant in USA). First thing I learnt quickly about America, food is generally much cheaper (like 50% cheaper) and the serving sizes are massive! (plus side is it is very common to take away your left overs, so most of the time I’d order dinner and have breakfast and then some the next day!)
Oh I should mention, like a good Youtuber, I vlogged my entire experience as well so I’ll be releasing those videos as I get them edited and in sync with my blog 😀
