I know this is going to sound a bit contradictory, but I’m a creature of habit. Once I find something I love, I stick to it like glue. The same goes for beauty and skin care products, which makes being a beauty blogger whose task is to constantly be trying new things a bit difficult sometimes. I need to make a conscious effort to swap out my “go to” makeup drawer to ensure I am always testing new things out.
Clinique kindly included this chubby stick in their little basket of goodies when I first received a bottle of their new DDML and honestly I pushed it to the side. I already have a set range of Go To lipsticks that I tend to go for when I need a bit of colour and I tend to feel a bit overwhelmed if I keep throwing new things into my pool (I’ve almost hit pan on my first lipstick and that only happens when you stick to what you love!)
However I was getting ready to head out, was in a rush and needed something for my lips for my outfit that day. I saw this sitting on my desk, had no idea what it would be like, but beggars can’t be choosers! I just grabbed it and headed off.
Firstly, I have tried the previous chubby sticks in the past, and whilst they were nice, they didn’t give a very strong colour pay off nor did they moisturise my lips a great deal, so they were a product that never really stood out to me. This one however, had incredible colour pay off! The colour was prefect for my rocker chic outfit that day and I noticed that whilst the formula didn’t moistures my lips per say, they didn’t cause my lips to dry out and crack later in the day (a painfully common problem I face every time I use lipsticks that aren’t moisturising)
The colour really lasted! It stayed on the entire day till around 1am the next morning and I only had to reapply maybe twice throughout the day~ I loved it ๐ It now lives in my “go to” lip drawer and despite some pretty extensive use, I have not had to retract any additional product yet~ I can’t wait to try out the other colours and hope Clinique feel like releasing more ๐
