Oh highlighters! I feel like a soft pink blush and a beautiful white based highlighter is all I need for perfect glowy skin in Spring 🙂
Chanel recently released this new blush called Delice, and even though it is technically listed as a blush under the Chanel product lists, I think it’s very clear to all that this is really a highlighter.
Packaging wise it is very similar to all of Chanel’s baked blushes, it’s highly pigmented and glides on the skin beautifully. It has a very subtle rose scent that isn’t obvious unless you really press your nose close to the powder (which is a weird thing to do, but we’ve all done it!). I did find that when I applied with my fingers the product came off feeling a little bit powdery, but with a brush it was perfect.
I will say however that this highlighter is almost an exact dupe for my much loved Canmake Highlighter in 01, a “drugstore” Japanese brand, and for a mere fraction of the price too. They work in a very similar way, Canmake’s formula when applied with fingers was a tad less powdery, but both when applied with medium pressure are not subtle highlighters. Nothing like the Guerlain powder reviewed last week which was really more a natural highlighter.
This is great if you are really want to make certain aspects of your face stand out. Using a lighter hand will give a more natural finish, but the shimmer is still there.
It’s a beautiful highlighter and really a joy to use if you are looking for this level of intensity. (I purposely went pretty heavy in the photo above so the camera could pick it up)
