Ever since my weeks of constant travel stint for work my skin has dramatically changed. I find it surprising because I figured once I got back to my “regular” life, my skin too would return back to normal. Unfortunately this is not the case. My skin is generally a lot drier than it used to be and virtually all my skin care is aimed at targeting dehydration and dry skin.
My makeup too has had to change to cater for my skin. I used to love using powder foundation on its own, unfortunately now I can only use it as an actual face powder on top of foundation rather than on its own because the formula is far too drying for my skin.
Introducing cream foundations, perfect for dry skin! And am I glad to have discovered Bobbi Brown’s cream foundation, which is officially my new favourite cream foundation~~ Bobbi Brown has always been one of my go-to brands when it comes to foundation, they never steer me wrong. Their Skin Foundation is still one of my all time favourite liquid foundations.
I’m currently using the shade Sand, and you can see what a perfect match it is for my skin tone. This is a medium to full coverage foundation that is buildable. A single layer is all I’d want to use as it still allows my natural skin to shine through but helps even out a lot of my imperfections.
Because this is a cream foundation you can feel it sitting on your skin and throughout the day I know I am wearing foundation, but it doesn’t bother me. If you want to reduce the shine, then dusting over a bit of face powder especially to any areas that tend to get oiler throughout the day will help.
Application is simple, part of why I love this so much! Whilst it does come with a sponge, I much prefer to use a dense synthetic brush instead. Just a few swipes of product is all you need to smooth over your entire face.
Definitely my current go to cream foundation. I change up the foundation I use depending on my skin’s current condition. However word of warning, despite this being aimed at dry skin, when my eczema flares up I would avoid using this foundation as it can make your dry flakes even more apparent. Quite frankly when my eczema is flaring up I stay far away from any face makeup and tend to just drench my skin in ointments instead.
If you’re interested, you can pick this up online for $46US or from the Austalian Bobbi Brown website for $75AU.
