Skin79 is best known for their amazing BB Creams, I see them all the time used by many beauty bloggers and gurus. One of their newest products is their BB Mousse from their Chiffon line. It’s a new spin on their normal BB Cream line 🙂 The great people at My BB Cream kindly sent me a bottle of their mousse as well as their matching blending sponge.
As you can see, I simply pumped out some of the mousse on the back of my hand, dip in my sponge and then pat all over your face. I’ve never tried a mousse formula before so the texture was very different. Very light and fluffy. Whilst the sponge helped blend the product in beautifully, I think using a brush or your fingers would work just as well. If you use a sponge and decide to use it wet, make sure to squeeze out all the water else it will create an uneven application on your skin.
This particular BB formula is extremely light weight, once I applied it on my skin and set it with powder I could hardly feel it. That said, it is also has quite light to natural coverage. It’s good at evening out any lighter freckles and redness, but it definitely is more of a tint than anything else. It won’t give you coverage like a foundation would.
Admittedly my skin without makeup is pretty clear (I’m very lucky) so based on photos I don’t see a huge difference between the side with coverage and the side without. The main thing I noticed is the redness around the sides of my nose, they appear more even toned and the freckles around my cheeks are slightly lightened. Again, a very natural look, great for those only wanting something very sheer.
This mousse definitely needs to be set after application, otherwise your skin can feel a bit sticky afterwards as the formula can be quite hydrating, so those with oily skin may need a powder to set this afterwards. However if you suffer from dry skin, this alone may be perfect for you.
If you’re interesting, you can purchase the Mousse for $28.60AU and the Sponge for $7.40AU at My BB Cream.
