The Spring 2013 collections are finally arriving, first up is Chanel’s Printemps Precieux de Chanel~ Thank goodness I review products on my blog and not on my YouTube channel, because I’d have no idea how to pronounce that! I wanted to try out their latest quad to see how it held up against all their other quads and I’ve got to admit, I love this just as much as I do the others π
Chanel eyeshadows (the non-baked versions) in my experience are soft, buttery and highly pigmented, as you can tell in the swatches below. Very easy to blend and work with. The palette does however make me think of Tom Ford’s Fall 2013 palette called Enchanted. I feel like they sit in a similar colour family, so if you have one I don’t think it’s absolutely necessary to have the other.
I put together a step by step eyeshadow application tutorial to give you guys a better idea as to how to create each look when I review eyeshadow palettes. Hopefully I manage to do this for each of my future reviews (no promises).
I didn’t manage to use the top left colour in my look, in retrospect I think it would have been a lovely crease colour. I think the colour family used is suitable for most skin tones, though they aren’t exact neutral. I almost feel some of the colours here are a bit on the plummy side. Reminds me of Fall collections rather than spring.
This palette is going for $59US online, and I don’t believe it has made its way on to Aussie shores yet, but I’m happy to be corrected π

Such beautiful colours! Thanks for sharing the little step-by-step, it’s helpful also seeing the types of brushes you use for each area π

Very lovely colors they are. I really like the shade on you and I saw it on Raeview reviewing this. I hope to try Chanel makeup items one day. Thanks for the review, very lovely swatches and step by step on applying it.

Step by step is a great addition to palette reviews.
Suggestion: Label the colour and make some indication of where in the sequence they’re being applied? Area they’re being applied? Unless it’s all too much “Maybeline palette how-to instructions”.
So many great ideas from you. 2013 is your year!
