I’ve never really looked into Clarins makeup range before, to me they were always more of a skin care range (I love their eye contour sunscreen!), but after I saw this palette I knew I had to give it a shot, and so glad I took the plunge 🙂
First up is this beautiful limited edition eye palette inspired by traditional Indian Saris. The first thing that caught my eye was the incredible pattern on the lid of the palette, it’s just amazing! A little too prone to picking up finger prints, but stunning none the less.
Then comes the actual product, which for the most part is quite good. I found all the neutral toned eye shadows to apply wonderfully, highly pigmented and blends into each other like a dream. The lightest shade contains more shimmer than actual mica pigmentation so best used more as an accent than a base colour.
The only colour that left me a little disappointed was the purple, due to its lack of pigmentation. I had to dig a bit to get the swatch to turn up properly. It’s fine if all you want is a soft wash of purple or if you’re only using it for your lower lash line, but if you’re aiming for a rich intense purple eye, then this won’t cut it for you.
The liner however makes up for it, it’s a cream based liner and is incredibly opaque. You can see it contains little gold flecks throughout it, which only appears in the swatch, not when you use it as a liner. But I love how smooth it applies, definitely a favourite of mine.
One of the reasons I do recommend this palette if you want to spoil yourself a little is the price, it’s not actually that insane like some of the Chanel palettes you’ve seen here before. You can purchase this palette for $40US from Nordstrom, or for $55AU at either David Jones or Myer.

Ooooh I was so tempted to get this in my recent Nordstrom order but decided on the Chanel Rives palette instead. Still kinda lemming this though, but only because I love the gold packaging haha
