It may be Autumn in Australia, but it’s finally Spring in the northern hemisphere! NARS came out with a beautiful aquatic collection, filled with bright and vibrant colours~ NARS Australia were kind enough to send me two products from their collection to share with you on my blog.
Starting first is their eyeshadow duo called China Seas. Features two shades, a iridescent turquoise shade and a gold infusion plum shade. Personally I find purple shades more wearable than turquoise, that’s purely from a day to day office life perspective.
However did find that the turquoise shade to be much more pigmented than the purple. It took just two swipes to create the swatch shown, but for the purple shade it took a good 3-4 swipes. Big difference. I’ve worn both shades out and have had the same issue. Took a bit of work to get the purple to be completely saturated, but the turquoise shade just glided on. This isn’t all bad however, it does mean you’ll be able to achieve a nice subtle look with the purple shade without piling on too much shadow.
Finally NARS’ Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner in Khao San Road, a rich metallic aquamarine. If I had to give a comparison, I’d say the quality is similar to that of Urban Decay’s 24/7 Glide On Pencils. Soft and very creamy, very little pressure needed for application.
In terms of longevity, it was pretty standard. I used it under my lower lash line and needed to top it up after about 2-3 hours of use.
If you’re interested, the eyeshadow duo retails for $55 and the eyeliner retails for $36, both are available for Mecca Cosmetica.
