I was not expecting to like this foundation as much as I do! Even though the only reason I purchased it is because I’ve seen Fleur de Force rave on about it so much! I suppose when you’ve tried as many foundations as I have, and most of them are just okay, you never really have high expectations.
But I was presently surprised by this formula! It is for one extremely watery, very liquid. You need to pour some out on to a palette or the back of your hand first then apply and be careful since it is so liquidy, there is a tendency to over pour. Just keep in mind, this foundation is pretty pigmented so you really don’t need a ton of it!
The foundation I think works well for people who have slightly drier skin because I noticed it left a bit of a shine on me after application, but once I patted some face powder to set it, my face was just left with a more natural looking sheen.
The pigmentation is the part that surprised me, I wasn’t expecting it to be as full coverage as it was (more medium to full). But you can see in the photos below, it does a really great job at masking all the veins and imperfections on my skin. Really surprised giving our light and fluid the formula is! Do however keep in mind that this formula has a tendency to try pretty fast so make sure to blend quickly.
I’m still not 100% sold on the colour though, I’m currently using the shade O00 Very Light Ochre and have found it to be just a touch too dark / orange for me. Though if my skin does get a bit of warmth this upcoming Summer maybe this will be perfect?. It’s not a huge deal, after you apply a bit of powder to set it, you can hardly tell. However once I’ve finished this bottle I might try Very Light Ivory instead and see how that goes (yes I intend to repurchase it 🙂 )
Lasting power, this did a pretty good job, I started noticing a bit of shine on my nose and forehead at around the 4-5 hour mark. I feel like the foundation may have performed better if I had used a primer or a setting spray. But honestly nothing I was too concerned about and nothing a bit of powder or blotting paper couldn’t fix.
If you’re expecting this to last 20hrs+ then I’d probably only consider using it if your skin was actually dry. I suspect this stuff would slip off for those with oilier skin.
Great quality foundation, really enjoy it, still iffy on the colour but I’ll live 🙂
