- Maintains lip’s moisture
- Natural colour to lips
- Leaves lips with a beautiful gloss
- Don’t seem to actually hydrate
- Feels thick, like vaseline
The Australian dollar is pretty awesome at the moment so no surprise that most of my hard earnt cash is flying over to various online stores. When I saw this little cutie on Sephora I couldn’t resist. I am a sucker for packaging, and most advertisements will work on me. <– Marketing team's dream.
Generally speaking I like this lip balm, but more because it looks nice on me, gives me a pop of colour and it's an apple! But if you're looking to buy this to actually use as a legit lip balm, you might be better off just using Vaseline, because that's honestly what this feels like to me.
The consistency is thick, feels heavy on the lips, it’s not actually moisturising, instead I think it just “seals” in whatever existing moisture is on my lips (which is what Vaseline essentially does). It lasts about 3-4 hours on the lips before I need to reapply. And being in a pot doesn’t make it the most hygienic product.
The smell reminds me of lip smackers, it doesn’t actually smell like apples 🙁 So, I can’t tell you whether this is a hit or miss, completely depends on why you want this product. I’m happy to have bought it and will use it, but if my lips are cracked I’ll probably reach for something else.
