- Great mix between lipstick and lip gloss
- Leave a beautiful shine
- Pigmentation is medium to sheer
- Lips feel hydrated
- Solid metal packaging, clip on lid
- Has the trademark Chanel rose scent
- Doesn’t last very long
Admittedly I don’t own a heap of Chanel products, primarily thanks to their price point (let’s not talk about bags though because we all know that Chanel bags are pure investment! #delusionaljustifications) but every now and then I feel the urge to splurge, and this was one of them~ I purchased the shade Unique because I wanted a shade I don’t typically wear a lot that I could save for special occasions.
The Chanel Rouge Coco Lipsticks are designed to be a combination of a lipstick and a lip gloss, and I’d say Chanel got pretty close with this one, application is great and the payoff is lovely.
It applies smoothly on the lips, great slip and leaves your lips with a decent amount of colour and shine. I think because of the shine there is a tendency for your hair to stick to it a little, but obviously nothing close to the stickiness of actual lip gloss. My lips kept hydrated and I didn’t feel the need to apply lip balm at all.
And I like the weight of the packaging, it feels like solid metal. I could easily drop this tube and not be worried in the slightest.
It does have the typical Chanel scent, which I’m not a huge fan of, but some people could be.
But my biggest gripe with this lipstick is the longevity. Maybe thanks to it’s sheerer nature it isn’t possible to last longer, but I was hoping for a bit more wear. I’m not too keen to constantly re-apply a $50 lipstick
Despite that con, I’d still be willing to purchase another two or three So far I don’t own any lipsticks that feels this lovely on my lips so I do recommend it if you have the extra cash to burn.
